HTTP/3 (QUIC — Quick UDP Internet Connections) was originally Google's attempt to improve HTTP/2 by transmitting it in encrypted form over UDP. The main advantage of QUIC is reduced latency during packet loss and faster connection times. QUIC is effectively a layer on top of the UDP protocol — a new transport internet protocol providing improvements designed to accelerate HTTP traffic and enhance its security, with the goal of eventually replacing TCP and TLS across the internet.
